The first 100 attendees will have a chance to learn freehand Rangoli techniques to celebrate Diwali, a festival of lights!
Spokane United We Stand and The Vedic Cultural Center present an art workshop for Dewali, a festival of lights that symbolizes victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and
knowledge over ignorance. Let good luck, peace, prosperity, and happiness shower on your family and friends with our Rangoli making workshop where you can learn an ancient art
in which intricate designs are created on the floors and entryways of houses and temples.
Vedic Cultural Center artist, Himani Agrawal will explain the various Rangoli designs and teach you easy freehand Rangoli making techniques with markers on poster board. Adults
and families with children age 6 and up (with an adult to help) are welcome to participate. No previous experience needed to attend, limited to first 100 attendees. You may bring your
own art supplies, and your Rangoli can be entered in a contest to win cash prizes from Spokane United We Stand and The Vedic Cultural Center. The judging will be held October 22
at 4pm on the skywalk level of River Park Square.
