CITY OF SPOKANE: Officer Mishap Thwarted

Bsuienss

City of Spokane issued the following announcement.

At approximately 3:30 PM on 12/20/2020, the Spokane Police Department received a 911 call regarding a residential alarm that had been activated on the south hill.

Responding officers arrived at the scene just as the homeowner arrived; the homeowner stated that she believed the back door to her residence had been inadvertently left ajar, triggering the alarm.  Officers checked the interior of the residence for the homeowner and the alarm was inadvertently set off a second time. It remains undetermined, but one of the officers was either startled by the alarm or just overcome with excitement by the Christmas magic stemming from the festive and well decorated house.  And in an irretrievable moment, the officer knocked over a porcelain Santa shattering both the Santa and possibly the Christmas spirit.

Fortunately, other officers pooled their resources together to purchase the homeowner a new stuffed snowman that would be impervious to future run-ins with the Scrooge officer in the future.  Not only was the homeowner thrilled with her new snowman, the Christmas spirit was saved.
