Spokane’s Riverfront Pavilion is the recipient of 16 awards spanning across the categories of design, illumination and urban development. 

“The U.S. Pavilion is the crowning glory of Riverfront Park, and is getting the recognition it deserves,” Mayor Nadine Woodward said in a post on Spokane’s Parks & Recreation website.

Riverfront Pavilion was honored with the highest levels of recognition from National Recreation and Parks Association, Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) and Illuminating Engineering Society International (IES) International, earning the Innovation in Park Design Award 2020, Project of the Year 2020 and Award of Distinction for Outdoor Lighting Design 2020, respectively.

The Pavilion also received DBIA’s Merit Award for Civic/Assembly 2020 and Best of Architecture Design 2020, IES’ Illumination Award of Merit for Outdoor Lighting Design 2020 and Illumination Award of Merit for Lighting Control Innovation 2020, and IES International’s Award of Excellence for Lighting Control Innovation 2020.

Other awards were Association of General Contractors’ Special Projects Award, Build Northwest Awards 2019; Construction Management Association of America’s Project Achievement Award 2020 and Project of the Year Award 2020; Engineering News-Record Northwest’s Landscape/Urban Development Project of Merit 2020 and Landscape/Urban Development Best Project 2020; American Institute of Architects (AIA) Washington Council’s Civic Design Honor Award 2020; and AIA Spokane’s Projects over $5M Honor Award and Projects over $5M People’s Choice Award.
