5.6% of citizens unemployed in Spokane County in 2021

Spokane County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.6% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 14,758 people out of the 531,477 living in Spokane County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Spokane County has increased compared to the 5.4% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Spokane County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5%.

Of the 248,661 people who had a job during that time, 3,157 were employed in the Armed Forces and 245,504 belonged to the civilian labor force.
