Around 550 Finch Elementary students were joined by dozens of teachers and volunteers today for a special showing of Roald Dahl's Matilda, The Musical, at the Bing Crosby Theater.
The show was put on by Christian Youth Theater (CYT), an after-school theater arts training program for students ages 4-18. Cast and crew said they're grateful to be in front of an audience after two years of COVID restrictions.
"Theater was the last to open," said Kristine Lyons, artistic director for CYT Spokane. "So this is remarkable for us to come back and be able to again offer a theater experience to children and families who may not otherwise get down here."
