After a two year COVID hiatus, SPS Special Education hosted the 5th Annual Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing Community Barbecue on Tuesday at Corbin Park. About 200 people came out for food, activities, and a resource fair.
Kids had their faces painted and played games organized by Spokane Falls Community College’s Flying Hands Club. Parents, teachers, friends, and older students mingled while speaking with American Sign Language - one of the most used languages in the U.S.
