Description: I AM, therefore You Are: Freedom with God in the Book of Exodus - The book of Exodus in the Old Testament describes a powerful and loving God who chooses to dwell among his liberated people. God graciously reveals Godself in mighty acts of deliverance and calls a people to live as God’s covenant people who display God’s character to the world. We will see that the book of Exodus is much more than simply about some plagues, the Red Sea, and the 10 Commandments. As we journey through Exodus together, we will see God’s amazing purposes for ordinary people, God’s opposition to systemic oppression and evil, God’s invitation to a life that does not greedily grasp for more but rests in God’s provision as we care for ourselves, others, and the earth, God’s initiative to be in real relationship with his people, and much more. All of these amazing ways that God reveals himself in Exodus are amplified and fulfilled in the person of Jesus, through whom God sets us free and in whom God came to dwell among us once and for all. Come join us this semester at Chapel Community Worship as we meet the I AM God of Exodus anew as a community.
Tuesdays we will be hearing from Exodus. Thursdays we will hear a community member’s testimony and receive the Lord’s Supper together.
