About This Event

Dr. Lori Kido Lopez is Professor of Communication Arts and Director of the Asian American Studies Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has published many books on race and media, including Asian American Media Activism: Fighting for Cultural Citizenship, Micro Media Industries: Hmong American Media Innovation in the Diaspora, The Routledge Companion to Asian American Media, and Race and Media: Critical Approaches. Dr. Lopez is a board member of the national AAPI Think Tank, the Center for Critical Race and Digital Studies, and the Madison-based community organization Freedom, Inc. Please join us for an engaging discussion of Dr. Lopez's scholarship and activism.
