Lime's scooter and bicycle program is making changes to reinforce COVID-19 safety precautions.

"Lime has generously offered to use its tools to help address the activities and behaviors of 20 to 39 year olds where Spokane County is seeing the most extreme increase in positive cases," the city of Spokane said in its press release

The number of scooters will be reduced from 800 to 500, according to the city press release. Scooters will be placed in groups of five or less and placed further apart in staging areas.

There will be also be a  10 p.m. curfew in the downtown area to match bar closing hours.

Lime is also increasing the cleaning and disinfecting of scooters and bikes.

“All parts of the scooters and bikes that are touched by people are cleaned using products recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on the Center for Biocide Chemistries list and approved by the EPA for use against the coronavirus,” the city said in its press release.
