NEWTech Prep hosted a standing room only crowd of more than 300 for a pinning celebration recognizing students in Health Careers and Criminal Justice programs.

Honorees included 38 Dental Assisting students, 37 Criminal Justice students, 28 Nursing students, and 13 Pharmacy students.

Pinning ceremonies have historically been a symbolic welcoming of newly graduated or soon-to-be graduated nurses into the profession. Registrar Polly Lunt and others decided to adapt the tradition for students at NEWTech several years ago.

“Students in our Health Careers and Criminal Justice are not only recognized for their hard work and dedication to their course, but the pinning ceremony further honors them in a career where they have dedicated themselves to their community and country,” she said.
