Congressman Michael Baumgartner, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, posted several comments on social media from March 7 to March 8, 2026, addressing international relations and recent collaborations.
On March 7, Baumgartner expressed disappointment with the United Kingdom’s Prime Minister Starmer, referencing the longstanding alliance between the two countries. He wrote: “I, too, am disappointed in UK PM Starmer. The ‘special relationship’ between the US & UK is based on a shared cultural affinity and mutual appreciation of each others ability to project military force around the globe in the cause of freedom. As I told some senior Labor” (March 7, 2026).
In a subsequent post dated March 8, Baumgartner commented positively on recent efforts between parties or nations: “Impressive collaboration, impressive result. “ (March 8, 2026).
Later that day, he highlighted an article from The Spokesman-Review featuring himself and Ambassador Ryan Crocker discussing Iran’s history of targeting Americans and lessons from past conflicts. Baumgartner stated: “Good read in today’s @SpokesmanReview of me and my former boss during the Iraq Surge, Ambassador Ryan Crocker, talking about the history of Iran killing Americans and the lessons learned & challenges we face now. “ (March 8, 2026).
Baumgartner has previously served as an advisor during the Iraq Surge alongside Ambassador Crocker. The “special relationship” referenced in his comments refers to decades-long cooperation between the United States and United Kingdom across diplomatic and military spheres.
