Congressman Michael Baumgartner, a U.S. Representative, recently made several statements on his social media account addressing both political and national security topics.
On December 12, 2025, Baumgartner posted a message directed at another public figure regarding presidential recognition: “Bob, it’s OK to thank President Trump. You won’t melt.”
The following day, December 13, 2025, he commented on disaster relief efforts and the importance of bipartisanship: “We were all happy to do it. Disaster relief shouldn’t be partisan. On behalf of the entire state we would also appreciate it if you would show some class and also thank the President. “
Later that same day, Baumgartner turned attention to national security concerns with a post commemorating victims and highlighting ongoing threats: “God bless these heroes. May they rest in peace. Radical Islamic terrorism remains a persistent threat to our safety and security. “
Baumgartner’s comments come amid continuing debates over disaster response coordination between federal and state governments as well as persistent concerns about domestic security threats.
