Gonzaga women’s rowing to host Washington State for home races on April 2

The Gonzaga women’s rowing team will compete against Washington State University on April 2 at the Silver Lake Boathouse. The event will feature races between the third varsity eight (3V8) and fourth varsity eight (4V8) boats from both schools, as well as an intrasquad race by the Gonzaga team.

This event is significant for the Bulldogs as it provides an opportunity to race at home and recognize the contributions of senior athletes. After the competition, a senior celebration will be held to honor twelve graduating members of the team.

According to information released by Gonzaga, spectators can find full details about attending and following the event at https://gozags.com/sports/2023/3/31/race-day-central.aspx. The scheduled events begin with a dual race between WSU and GU’s 3V8 boats at 3:00 p.m., followed by a Gonzaga intrasquad race at 3:10 p.m., and then another dual between GU and WSU’s 4V8 boats at 3:20 p.m. The senior celebration is set for 4:00-4:40 p.m. at Johnson Family Boathouse.

The seniors being recognized are Isabella Barstow, Gabriella Bolt, Chloe Breznikar, Giovanna Consiglio, Lucy Coyle, Katie Hill, Lula Macey, Maria Inés Marquez, Inés Marquez, Erin Monfredini, Kaitlyn Ramirez, and Samantha Sabin.

The home racing event not only highlights athletic competition but also serves as a moment of recognition for student-athletes completing their collegiate careers.
