Gonzaga Volleyball announced on Apr. 9 the signing of Veronica Kjaer Sorenson, an outside hitter with international experience, to its roster for the upcoming season.
The addition of Sorenson comes as Gonzaga prepares for its first year competing in the PAC-12 Conference. The team aims to strengthen its attacking options as it enters a new chapter in a more competitive league.
Sorenson, who stands at 6 feet 2 inches, currently plays for the Danish national team and has represented Denmark at all youth national team levels. She was previously named most valuable player at the North European Zone Volleyball Association Under-19 championship. Sorenson is expected to bring her international skills and experience to Spokane when she joins Gonzaga next semester.
Head Coach JT Wenger will lead his squad into their inaugural PAC-12 campaign with both Sorenson and another Danish national team member, Nikita Clausen, who is also set to join Gonzaga next year. The arrival of these players is anticipated to provide additional attacking power for the Bulldogs’ volleyball program.
The move signals Gonzaga’s commitment to strengthening its roster as it transitions into a new conference and faces heightened competition.
