Congressman Michael Baumgartner has recently used his Twitter account to comment on U.S. foreign policy, European defense, and national leadership in a series of posts published between February 14 and February 16, 2026.
On February 14, Baumgartner addressed the topic of transatlantic relations by quoting Secretary Rubio’s remarks to European leaders. He wrote: “Secretary Rubio gave it straight to Europe’s leaders. America wants to partner with Europe, but Europe has to get its act together and build a real military, reject socialism, stop climate extremism, and defend our mutual cultural heritage. “
The following day, on February 15, Baumgartner discussed former President Donald Trump’s impact on Russia and international affairs. He stated: “Donald Trump is a strategic problem for Vladimir Putin. From Iran, to Venezuela, to bullying NATO into building an actual military, to the toughest oil sanctions yet imposed, Trump’s moves have reduced Russia’s leverage. “
On February 16, in recognition of Presidents’ Day in the United States—a federal holiday observed annually on the third Monday of February—Baumgartner posted: “Today we reflect and honor the great leaders of our nation. This Presidents’ Day we celebrate their sacrifice, leadership, and commitment to serving our country!”
Presidents’ Day serves as an occasion for Americans to honor all individuals who have served as president of the United States.
